MRII Introduces the Reg Baker Award to Cover Enrollment in Principles Express Courses

SARASOTA, Florida – APRIL 9, 2020 – A new awards program will cover tuition for market researchers around the globe who are interested in furthering their education through industry-leading online courses. The Market Research Institute International named this new awards program in honor of Reg Baker, the first North American ambassador of ESOMAR, and it will cover the enrollment cost for the Principles Express family of courses, administered through the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel.

During Baker’s four years of service as executive director of the MRII, he envisioned and delivered the Principles Express family of courses. Each of these courses provides a self-paced overview of a topic from the MRCBOK™, the Market Research Core Body of Knowledge: the essential information that everyone in the insights and research industry should know.

Baker has been active in the research industry for nearly 40 years and is an acknowledged and trusted expert in quantitative market research. Prior to his initial retirement in 2012, he was president and COO of Market Strategies International. He served as executive director of the MRII from 2014 to 2018.

Recipients of the Reg Baker Award may enroll in any one of the following Principles Express courses:

  • Introduction to Market Research and the Research Process
  • Market Research Design and Data
  • Sampling in Market Research
  • Qualitative Market Research
  • Quantitative Data Collection Methods
  • Introduction to Data Analysis
  • Advanced Analytic Techniques
  • Working with Secondary Data: Syndicated and Big Data
  • Communicating Research Results
  • Global Market Research
  • Emerging Methods and Future of Market Research
  • Ethical and Legal Issues in Market Research

The awards will be presented to applicants who meet all eligibility requirements and who, in the opinion of the MRII awards committee, will make a positive contribution to the profession of insights, analytics and market research. Selection criteria will include, but not be limited to, the demonstrated desire to serve the insights and market research profession and a financial need with limited or no employer financial support. As this is a line of online, self-paced courses, candidates are welcome from any country (subject only to U.S. State Department restrictions).
